Major arcana
0 Hot Dog
This dude is a hot dog: Ready to jump first and figure it out later. A free spirit who trusts themselves and the adventure. Take a chance on questionable ground animal parts stuffed into a little tube. Put it on a bun with your favorite toppings and don’t think too hard about it. Or if this is in a blockage position, maybe DO think about it. Did you grab the dog and start chewing without checking to see if maybe someone else might be hungry?
1 magic masala
You know who can summon things up and make stuff happen? This Magic Masala, that’s who. When this card shows up, it means you are ready to manifest and take action towards a goal. Unless it is in a blockage position. Then it just means you are being a narcissist.
2 Mystery taste
That feeling in your gut, that intuition . . . that’s what the card asks you to embrace. All that witchy, internal, arcane knowledge needs expression NOW! Unless it is upside down. Then maybe you are afraid of finding out how you really feel.
3 truffle
Living harmoniously, luxuriously, sensually, surrounded by beauty, creativity, and abundance. Isn’t that what a truffle is all about? This card asks you to embrace feminine vitality and a nurturing spirit. But you have to work for it. Watch out if this card is in a blockage position: some outside female influence may be trying to disrupt your good vibes.
4 steak
The steak is on the plate. Bossy, in charge, powerful, and making sure those potatoes stay in line. This meat is good at taking the lead, but sometimes can be a little stuck in its ways. The steak could be you, or you just maybe need a little authority in your life. Then again, watch out that someone else isn’t trying to overcook you or push you off the plate.
5 Burt
Burt is mature. He is as traditional as cheddar and onion chips (which are the number one selling flavor of crisps in the UK). So, status quo. He might also be a little bit stuck in his ways, so be careful if this comes up in a blockage position in you layout. He may also signify a sort of guide or guru. Let the cheddar lead the way . . . but only if you don’t mind following all the rules. Or maybe you just ditch the boring old cheese?
6 the lovers
What is love? This card invites you to think about it. Feeling whole? Sexual attraction? Romantic ideal? Craving partnership? Just like shrimp and green sauce make a great pair (at least in Thailand) you may find this card in a layout when you are seeking answers to your love questions. Should you commit? Dip your tail into the sauce? It all depends on your goals for love, wholeness, and happiness.
7 chariot
Take the wheel! You can be in control of this situation. You can also look around and see if someone else has grabbed the reins and is trying to impose their will on you. If you want to drive off into the night in search of adventure or success, what is stopping you? In order to find it, though, keep the car on the road and follow the traffic signs. And stock up on road snacks.
8 Strong
What is strength, really? Maybe it is courage, compassion, or tolerance? Self awareness is a really powerful attribute which comes in handy when trying to figure out whether you are giving too much of yourself and not getting any emotional payoff. If you want the spice in the end, you will have to be tolerant and forgiving of the burn you get from biting into the pepper. Be compassionate to yourself and others.
9 hermit crab
The crab featured on this bag is not a hermit. It isn’t hunkered down and secluding itself inside a conveniently available shell. But maybe you should think about doing that. Protect your soft parts from the outside world. Go inside and figure out what you want. Maybe the answer will come to you if you look within and stay out of the waves crashing all around you. Alternatively, if you are worried that you are burrowing way too deep into the sand, you probably are.
10 wheel
Spinning the wheel of fortune, you never know where it will land. It’s all luck and chance. Like would you have ever thought that such a thing as a “Cola Sour” potato chip exists? No. You didn’t. But you have to admit that it’s pretty special. Whether you think “Cola Sour” is unfortunate—or the best thing ever—is pretty much up to chance. Get used to it. Stay open and flexible and everything will be ok.
11 voodoo
If someone messes with you, how do you respond? Do you build and effigy and stick pins in it for revenge? That’s justice, right? Probably not, but the intent is solid: You want equality, fairness, and harmony. You want the scales of justice in balance. For that to happen you have to take responsibility for your own actions. Own up to your role in any situation and examine whether you truly deserve what you are getting.
12 lobster
Think of your question from the Lobster’s perspective. It is hanging there, with its claws clamped down on a fishing line or some seaweed. The waves are splashing it all around in different directions, but it is floating. Every time the tide comes in or out, the Lobster is pulled to face a new direction. Those weird, black eyes spin around on their stalks and the Lobster can see something from an angle it maybe never considered before.
13 Marmite
Marmite is a spread made of yeast that remains as the by-product of brewing beer. So the beer is brewed. The process is finished. And the yeast is reborn as a (questionably) delicious umami treat to spread on toast or eat with eggs. Look at this card as embodying a transformation. The ending of one thing and the beginning of another. Marmite yeast can transition from beer into a delightful new savory experience. In a ‘blockage’ position, ask your self if you are afraid of change.
14 Temperance
Moderation sounds about as boring as a salted egg. But sometimes that self-control and compromise is just what you need. Sometimes the best way forward is to identify your wants (a hard-boiled egg) and then balance it with your needs. As in, “This boiled egg NEEDS some salt!” Maybe you want to put some pepper or chili crisp on it but that would mean that you would drown out the flavor of the egg instead of bringing out the taste. Equilibrium is key.
15 DEVIL
There are some people who are addicted to spicy food. Those contestants in ghost pepper-eating competitions? They have built up a resistance to chilis which can burn their insides. There is a limit on how much your body can handle, and this card asks you to acknowledge limitations. Get your head out of the bag, and stop chaining yourself to this unhealthy situation. Who says that biting into a pepper that makes your nose run and chest burn makes you cool? That’s some arbitrary shit.
16 Tower
A tower of potato chips doesn’t seem like the most stable structure, does it? At some point you are going to want to eat some and it will topple. But that can be a good thing. Maybe the chips were all stale and now you can start over again with a fresh tower and fresh viewpoints? This is a great sign that you should tackle new challenges and examine any weaknesses in your chip-stacking methods. Even if your tower is knocked over, get over it and figure out how to make it more secure in the future.
17 THE STAR
Nicki Minaj really is full of herself. The star expresses herself without fear of criticism. She trusts in herself and is inspired to keep pushing her ideas out there. She is optimistic that she will be successful no matter what she does. Look at the other cards around this one in your layout and decide what you can be optimistic about. Nicki Minaj has said some really delusional stuff. Be sure to check in and make sure you are in a position to live up to your own expectations.
18 the moon
If you came across a solitary plate of shish kabobs sitting on a moonlit picnic table in the middle of nowhere, you would feel confused and maybe a little disoriented. There would really be no way to deal with this mystery than to identify any fears the situation arouses and trust your instincts about whether or not you want to stick around. This card can indicate you might be hiding out in the shadows for fear of encountering the truth.
18 the sun
Finally! It’s warm and sunny! Like emerging from winter feeling spicy like a habanero! The plants start unfurling their leaves, we feel shiny and positive and we can see things more clearly. Time to move out of the shadows have some fun looking at all those ideas and thoughts you have, and how to make them real. Light a fire under your butt, get inspired, and get moving. Share your happiness and joy with other people around you while you are at it!
20 judgement
Whether you are judging a cheese contest like these ladies, or you are trying to figure out how you feel about something, this card reminds you to BE OBJECTIVE! You can figure our your motives and values without being ‘judgey’. Maybe you used to like swiss cheese and now you prefer cheddar. It doesn’t really matter if you change your mind, drop your old ideas or embrace new ones. Just accept you and your preferences the way they are.
21 All Dressed
These chips have a little bit of everything. They are a world in themselves. They are complete, and so are you if you draw this card in a layout. You are fulfilled, free, and liberated from fear. It’s time to celebrate your arrival at whatever your goal is. If you draw this card in a “blockage” position, perhaps you are being a little bit delusional, though? Like too much wishful thinking. This card is reminder to look objectively t your goals and how you try to accomplish them.
Minor Arcana
The numbered cards and the court cards are designated at the bottom of the card, under the bag image.
red hot
Based on the traditional suit of Wands. Red cards represent energy, drive, ambition, and passion. Sometimes this is good. Other times it is like T**** and his fucking stupid red hat: egotistical, foolish, empty promises and blowhard.
Blue water
Imagine a chalice overflowing with water, like a heart brimming with love—like the traditional suit of Cups. Human connection, love and friendship . . . all the emotional, mushy stuff. Are you swimming in it? Or is there a drought?
green onion
The sharp tang of an onion can cut through the bland. This suit asks you to use logic and reason and balance it with what you know to be true inside your heart. Be thoughtful and direct.
salted gold
Salt of the earth. What does that mean? These cards are concerned with real, tangible, material substances at the core of our being. Our gifts and skills, our talents and psyche are up for interpretation with this suit.
