Things to know before you apply:

Please note: for the 2025 season we are renting the qhhq as a private studio to one or two people for the entire duration from april-october at a rate of $500/month

if you are interested in a shorter residency period, please contact anne directly (don’t use this application)

We are Artist-run. There are only two of us and we do everything. We do not have the backing of a large organization
We are a for-profit operation without outside funding. Stipends are only available when we announce specific projects.
Because of the rural context there is no public transportation. You must have access to a vehicle and driver’s license, or hire a driver.
U.S. Visa applications are your responsibility. In some cases we can extend an invitation, or use a third-party sponsor to help you apply.
You must provide proof that you are covered by health insurance

we have limited resources for accessibility , but we strive to offer as much access as we are able

I acknowledge that at the moment, the QHHQ is not ADA compliant, and accommodation for people with disabilities are made on a case by case basis as is possible.

I acknowledge that any work or statements reflecting bigoted racist, homophobic, and able-ist language or content will not be tolerated except in the case of satire or irony. Doing so will result in ejection from the residency with no refund

I acknowledge that the bathroom facilities in the QHHQ are a water-saving no-flush composting toilet and (treated, clean) water from a rain water cistern and heated by a water heater.

I acknowledge that I understand this residency is self-catered except by express arrangement with hosts prior to arrival.
