An ongoing exploration of limestone and limestone dust / powder / flour in its many forms.
Our QHHQ hosting compound was originally built in the late 1800s to house local limestone quarry workers and their families. We have access to two private former submerged quarry sites in which to explore, as well as being situated between two working limestone quarries within 10 miles. We offer a place to stay and work. They investigate the geological milieu and resources. They want to make a performance, installation, or exhibition. We help them find what they need—historically, materially, communally and otherwise. The community comes to observe, and hears a story of their own history, and now sees limestone and its trajectory differently than they did before.
