Aaron spent a week organizing his thoughts and making a plan surrounding a couple of different virtual reality experiences he has developed. He also opened up a portal to new dimensions for us as he allowed us to enter into these virtual worlds! And he test-drove our new (treated and heated) rainwater shower and composting toilet! We are definitely going to have him back to present his work to an audience of more than just Arni and myself!

Photographer and mixed-media artist, Katie became a semi-celebrity in Hillsboro, VA when she stayed at Farwell Cottage and taught a super fun and informative workshop on ‘Zine construction. Focusing intently on a new direction for her mixed media work, Katie lived and worked in the Cottage and took references from the lines and textures of the Town of Hillsboro. Everyone was happy!

Remarkably productive, Pat cranked out several works in her “Drifters” series while in residence at the QHHQ. She proposed a broad project for Wild and Wonderful. Interventions in nature, sculptural work, weed and soil collection at installation sites with geolocation tags as well as videos with local oral histories about migration.
Ludvig ödman and Kf arma blacksmiths

In order to raise money for the people fighting in Ukraine, Ludvig and his parents-in-law who run KF Arma blacksmith shop in Ukraine, brought their work to us and we organized a fundraiser together with the Town of Hillsboro, VA. We hosted our guests in our home.
